Question:

171 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will identify by location, acreage and other details, the State properties in his Department which are being considered for sale or are available for sale at present. [24330/02]

My Department has not identified any State properties which are being considered for sale or are available for sale currently.

There is an amount of land on hands in various locations around the country previously owned by the former Land Commission. This land, which comprises some 46 hectares of agricultural land and some 1,300 hectares of non-agricultural land, mainly turbary, is being disposed of on an ongoing basis under the specific terms of section 8 of the Irish Land Commission (Dissolution) Act, 1992.
