Vol. 559 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Aengus Ó Snodaigh

Question:

262 Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Education and Science if the promised allocation for funding for the heating project for Rosary College, Armagh Road, Crumlin, Dublin, previously promised for 2000 and 2002 but which never materialised, will be released for 2003. [25746/02]

The project to upgrade the electrical and heating systems at Rosary College, Crumlin, Dublin 12 is at stage 6, tender action and report. A decision to allow the school authorities to invite tenders is being considered in the light of the capital allocation for 2003, existing commitments and competing demands. A decision will be conveyed to the school authorities in the new year when I have determined a capital programme for 2003.

John Deasy

Question:

263 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress which has been made regarding the provision of a permanent extension to a school (details supplied) in County Waterford in view of the fact that the present temporary accommodation was imposed with a time limit planning restriction due to its close proximity to a main road; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25780/02]

My Department has an extensive primary school building programme under way at present, details of which are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie. In view of the extensive nature of the building programme, my Department has no plans at present to initiate architectural planning for any further major building projects for the foreseeable future.

Question No. 264 answered with Question No. 217.
