Written Answers. - Tax Forecasting.
The broad methodology used by my Department to forecast tax revenue is set out in the report of the tax forecasting methodology group which was published a few years ago and is available on my Department's website. My Department keeps the methodology used for forecasting tax receipts under constant review and will continue to reassess it in light of the shortfalls in 2001 and 2002 revenue as the requisite micro-data become available on the sources of those shortfalls.
