The person concerned is currently on an extended leave of absence or career break and has not asked to be considered for retirement on health grounds.

The procedure for consideration of a staff member for retirement on health grounds may be commenced by furnishing an application to the personnel officer of my Department. Applications from a staff members are considered by my Department based on detailed medical evidence furnished by the their medical adviser. This will then be considered by the chief medical officer for the Civil Service. In the light of this representation my Department will contact the person concerned about her situation.
