Written Answers. - Autism Services.

Finian McGrath

Question:

Question:

174 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will urgently intervene to ensure that a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 who has Angelmans Syndrome gets respite care one weekend per month and also full medical care; and if the rights of this child will be protected. [26891/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 165 and 174 together.

Responsibility for the provision of services to persons with an intellectual disability and those with autism in the Dublin region rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has asked its chief executive officer to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
