Question:

439 Ms Enright asked the Minister for Education and Science if engineering is to be provided as a senior cycle subject of Moville Community College; if facilities have been put in place for this subject; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1719/03]

Engineering is one of 34 subjects approved by my Department for senior pupils. It is for the management authorities of an individual school to decide whether or not to offer engineering within the school. As regards facilities, in June 2001 my Department's post-primary building unit authorised Donegal VEC to accept the tender for the provision of accommodation at Moville Community College as outlined in the following schedule:

With regard to the further development of Moville community college, the VEC's design team has recently submitted a revised stage 1 report. This documentation is currently being examined by my Department.
