Vol. 560 No. 1

Written Answers. - Cable Connection Charges.

Richard Bruton

Question:

537 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if his attention has been drawn to the increase in charges by a company (details supplied) in respect of its cable connection in Dublin and to the concern of persons receiving analog service from this company that they will be forced to take a digital connection; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27035/02]

I have no function in this matter. The regulation of prices charged by the company in question is currently governed by the Wireless Telegraphy (Programme Services Distribution) Regulations 1999 administered by the Commission for Communications Regulation. The provision of services is a commercial matter for the company and is also subject to regulation, as appropriate, by the Commission for Communications Regulation.
