Vol. 560 No. 1

Written Answers. - Medical Cards.

Finian McGrath

Question:

626 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on whether it is appropriate that a person (details supplied) in County Dublin who has suffered three strokes has had their medical card cancelled by the health board; and if he will intervene in the matter to assist the family. [1122/03]

The determination of eligibility of applicants for medical cards is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board. Accordingly, this particular case has been referred to the Eastern Regional Authority for investigation and direct reply to the Deputy.
