728 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of appeals received by the Western Health Board for 2002; the number dealt with; the number awaiting to be dealt with; the number of appeals which were overturned; and the number allowed by the appeals officer. [1892/03]

Responsibility for appeals in this instance rests with the Western Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer to investigate the matters raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
