Willie Penrose

Question:

791 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Transport if his Department will expedite an appli cation for a driving test by a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath. [1978/03]

The person concerned has indicated on his application form for a driving test that he is unavailable for test, for a period of two years from 6 January 2003, while he is working abroad. His application for the driving test was received on 13 December 2002 and, therefore, it was not possible to arrange a test for him before the date of his departure.

792 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Transport if his Department will take steps to ensure that a driving test which has been fixed for 30 March 2003, for a person (details supplied) in County Cavan is brought forward; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1979/03]

An appointment for a driving test for 10 February 2003 issued to the person concerned on 8 January 2003. A letter of reminder for this appointment has now issued.

An appointment for a driving test has been arranged for the person concerned.
