345 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Transport his legislative priorities for the remainder of the current Dáil; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2422/03]
The information requested is set out in the attached two tables. The first table shows the legislation that currently is before the Oireachtas. The second table is extracted from the Government's legislation programme that was published last week, and shows the legislative items that my Department currently is preparing. Further legislation will be brought forward, as necessary, as other policy matters under consideration are progressed.

1. Air Navigation Eurocontrol Bill |
To give effect to the Revised Eurocontrol Convention signed by Ireland in 1997 |
2. Air Navigation & Transport (Capetown Convention) Bill |
To enable Ireland to ratify the Convention dealing with international financing of aircraft |
3. Air Navigation & Transport (Montreal Convention 1999) Bill |
To enable Ireland to ratify the Montreal Convention 1999, signed by Ireland in 2000, which deals with air carriers' liability in the event of death, injury or delay of passengers, or the loss or delay of baggage. |
4. Driver Testing Agency Bill |
To establish a public sector agency to deliver the driver testing service |
5. Greater Dublin Area Land Use and Transport Authority Bill |
To establish a strategic land use and a transport authority for the Greater Dublin Area |
6. Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill |
To amend and extend the Road Traffic Acts 1961 to 2002 to provide for any legislative changes required in road safety, and for related matters |
7. Roads (Control of Road Works) Bill |
The Communications Regulation Act, inter alia, strengthens the power of local authorities to control telecoms-related road openings. A review of the effectiveness of road opening controls in the Communications Regulation Act will be carried out and the need for further statutory powers will be considered. |
8. Taxi Regulation Bill |
To provide for the establishment of the Office of National Taxi Regulator, and for related matters. |
9. Transport Bill |
To provide for reform in public transport |
10. Transport (Companies) Bill |
To establish Bus Éireann, Bus Átha Cliath and Iarnród Éireann as separate autonomous companies. |
