72 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food further to Parliamentary Question No. 83 of 24 April 2002, when the call for the proposals under the capital investments scheme for the marketing and processing of certain agricultural products will be made; the way in which this call will be advertised; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the first tranche of the capital investment scheme for the marketing and processing of agricultural products completed in 2002, a total of 48 projects were awarded grant aid amounting to €13.7 million across the various sectors. This represents the funding allocated for the scheme up to and including 2004. The possibility of inviting further applicants under the scheme is being kept under review in my Department and I hope to be in a position to make an announcement towards the end of the year in the light of the uptake of funds under the current tranche and future available funding.
