Vol. 561 No. 1

Written Answers. - Legal Representation.

Richard Bruton

Question:

240 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance the terms which he has approved for payment for legal representations at the various tribunals and inquiries established by the Government; and if he has satisfied himself that the arrangements in more recently established fora afford the taxpayer protection from paying sums beyond what would be reasonable for the fair representations of people affected by the work of the tribunals or inquiries concerned. [3626/03]

The question the Deputy has asked is wide ranging and covers a number of tribunals and inquiries under the aegis of different Departments. Compilation of the details of the reply will, therefore, take some time. The staff of my Department are currently making the necessary compilation and, with the Deputy's agreement, I have arranged to forward the material to him as soon as possible.
