Vol. 561 No. 1

Written Answers. - Presidential Standard.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

245 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if his attention has been drawn to any restrictions placed on the flying of the Presidential Standard on the vehicle used by the President of Ireland when on official visits to the United Kingdom; if so, the nature of these restrictions; the person by whom such restrictions are levied; the advice his Department has given to the Irish Embassy in London on the matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3271/03]

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has confirmed to our embassy in London that no restrictions exist on the flying of the Presidential Standard on the vehicle used by the President when on official visits to the United Kingdom. For the Deputy's information, the Presidential Standard was flown at the Henley Regatta in July of last year.
