475 Mr. McHugh asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when details of pension arrangements and so on will be made available to a person (details supplied) in County Galway who has retired from the prison forces on health grounds; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3613/03]
The officer concerned retired from the Prison Service on 28 January and was issued with a pension declaration form on the same day. The completed form, without which his pension application could not be processed, was received from the officer today.
Payment of his gratuity and a statement of his pension entitlements will issue later this week while his first pension payment will be made on 27 February.
