500 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the steps he has taken to improve the standard of signposting of roads here; and the steps he has taken to implement the commitment in the Government programme. [3621/03]
The 2003 non-national road grants provision for local authorities includes, for the first time, a provision of €5.1 million for a regional road signposting programme. This initiative commences a five year programme of works and delivers on the commitment in An Agreed Programme for Government "to put in place a new five year plan to ensure that non-national roads are properly signposted."
