Expenditure on media advertising during the periods referred to by the Deputy are set out below. Included in the figures provided for 2001 is €37,146.45 paid for the placement of advertisements in national newspapers advising the public of the availability of the White Paper on the Treaty of Nice.
Expenditure in 2002 includes:
(i) €18,336.92 relating to advertisements advising the public of the availability of the revised White Paper on the Treaty of Nice and Seville Declarations 2002, following publication in July 2002;
(ii) €18,373.77 relating to advertisements advising the public of the availability of the summary Information Guide on the Treaty of Nice and Seville Declarations 2002, during October 2002; and
(iii) €132,940.78 relating to the design and production of a TV and Print advertising campaign for World AIDS Day 2002, as well as the purchase of space on TV networks and national newspapers to advertise this occasion.
