The youth affairs section of my Department provides funding on an annual basis to An Oige, the Irish Youth Hostel Association, through the youth service grant scheme. This scheme provides grant-in-aid assistance towards the current running costs of eligible national and regional youth work organisations. The 2002 allocation to An Oige was €187,078. My Department has no record of any correspondence in respect of the Trá Na Rósann youth hostel in Downings, County Donegal.
