Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

John McGuinness

Question:

350 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children, further to Parliamentary Question No. 159 of 7 November 2002, the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny did not have surgery in January 2003 as stated in a letter from the SEHB on 27 November 2002; and if the SEHB will issue more accurate information in view of the distress that is caused to patients when a false expectation is created. [4340/03]

The provision of services for people living in County Kilkenny is a matter, in the first instance, for the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him.
