Vol. 561 No. 4

Written Answers. - Work Permits.

John McGuinness

Question:

424 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the procedure in relation to up-dating the stamp on a passport in the name of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who is a resident here and has a work permit; the way in which this person can obtain a re-entry visa; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4553/03]

The person in question should register with the Garda registration officer in the area in which he resides to obtain permission to remain in the State and to have the appropriate endorsement placed in his passport. Following registration he will be issued with a residency document – certificate of registration – which is evidence of his legal residency in the State. He can apply for a re-entry visa by submitting a completed visa application form to the visa office which is now located at 13-14 Burgh Quay, Dublin 2.
