Vol. 561 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Refunds.

Mary Upton

Question:

463 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs further to Parliamentary Question No. 290 of 29 January, if he will write to all community groups availing of the community support scheme for older people to alert them to the VAT refund under the Value Added Tax (Refund of Tax) (No 151) Order 1981; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4357/03]

Under the Value Added Tax (Refund of Tax) (No. 15) Order 1981 it is possible to obtain a VAT refund in respect of the purchase of a pendant alarm system as it is considered a medical device for the purpose of this refund Order.

It is my intention to include this information in the information leaflet for the scheme of community support for older people which is in the process of being revised.
