Written Answers. - Company Closures.

David Stanton

Question:

183 Mr. Stanton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the grant aid made available by the State to a company (details supplied) that set up operations in Youghal in 1997; the conditions attached to such grant aid; the amount to be repaid to the State by a company (details supplied) on closure of the facility in March 2003; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4516/03]

Grant aid totalling €6,227,623 was paid to Eastman Kodak. The grant aid comprised a training grant of €666,316 and a capital grant of €5,561,307 and was paid in 1997. Grant aid was not paid to Technicolour.

As the grant aid paid was conditional on the creation of a level of job numbers which was not met, the company repaid €1,695,172 in relation to the shortfall. There will be no outstanding moneys to be repaid on closure of Technicolour.
