224 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on the fact that taxi services through the health boards are not being allowed for people in certain rural areas who have no other means of transport for hospital services; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4821/03]

The NEHB is responsible for the provision of patient transport services in the rural areas referred to by the Deputy. My Department has asked its chief executive officer to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
