Question:54 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will sanction the necessary finance for the construction of a sports hall and gym at Loreto Convent secondary school, Kilkenny. [5732/03]
Written Answers - Schools Buildings Projects.
The 2003 capital programme has now been published and full details in relation to individual projects are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie. The PE hall project at the Loreto secondary school in Kilkenny is at pre-tender stage which is an advanced stage of architectural planning. However, given the level of financial commitments to be met from projects already in construction, I do not envisage that my Department will be in a position, during this year, to allow architectural planning for large scale building projects, including that at the Loreto in Kilkenny, to progress beyond their current authorised stage. The project will, however, be considered for the 2004 capital programme.
