Richard Bruton

Question:

241 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received a report on the crisis at the Dublin Institute of Technology Conservatory of Music which has seen numbers cut, fees increased and a general decline since it was handed over from the VEC; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6193/03]

The Dublin Institute of Technology is a statutory body established under the Dublin Institute of Technology Act 1992. Under that Act the governance and day to day activities of the institute are matters for which the governing body and the management staff of the institute are responsible. This includes decisions in relation to the operation and management of the Dublin Institute of Technology Conservatory of Music and Drama.
