Vol. 562 No. 6

Written Answers - Public Health Issues.

Dan Boyle

Question:

87 Mr. Boyle asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the fact that Irish people are sleeping less, with detrimental effects on health and well-being; his plans to address this problem; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6741/03]

I am not aware of research indicating that Irish people are sleeping less and therefore I am not in a position to comment on the matter further.

However, the National Health Promotion Strategy 2000-05 identifies strategic aims and objectives that contribute to the overall health improvement of the Irish population.
