Vol. 563 No. 1

Written Answers - Grant Payments.

John Ellis

Question:

236 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will award a REP scheme grant to a person (details supplied). [7455/03]

The person named is not currently in REPS and my Department has no record of an application from him for the current scheme. He joined the previous scheme in 1997 but his participation was subsequently terminated. It is open to him to submit a new application which will be considered in my Department in the normal way.

Question:

237 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will award a REP scheme grant to a person (details supplied). [7483/03]

An application for second year payment from the person named was received in my Department on 10 January 2003. This application should have been received by 30 September 2002 to avoid a penalty for late application.

The application and the possible imposition of a penalty are being examined in accordance with the targets set out in the Protocol on Direct Payments to Farmers and the farmer will be advised directly of the outcome.
