Vol. 563 No. 2

Written Answers - Medical Cards.

Mary Upton

Question:

222 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will immediately investigate a decision to refuse a medical card to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 who satisfies the means test; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7531/03]

Responsibility for the provision of a medical card is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board-authority. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him.
