253 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will extend the visa of a person (details supplied) whose life is under threat in West Papua, due to political activities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7588/03]

My Department received an application for a visa extension in January 2003 from the West Papua support group, on behalf of the person in question. However, the application was withdrawn some days later and no further application has been received to date.
