Vol. 563 No. 4

Written Answers - Health Board Funding.

Seamus Healy

Question:

437 Mr. Healy asked the Minister for Health and Children when he intends to grant approval to the South-Eastern Health Board to proceed to provide a health centre at Ballymacarbry-Fonnmilewater, County Waterford. [7845/03]

The provision of health centres and health services to meet the needs of local communities within its functional area is a matter for the relevant health board or the Eastern Regional Health Authority. In the case of the Ballymacarbry-Fonnmilewater area, this responsibility rests with the South-Eastern Health Board.

In the circumstances my Department has asked the chief executive officer of the South-Eastern Health Board to reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
