Vol. 563 No. 4

Written Answers - Public Transport.

John Bruton

Question:

514 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Transport if additional public transport will be provided for those senior citizens living in the Rosmean, Clonmellon area of Navan, who must travel to Mullingar by taking a taxi from Clonmellon to Delvin and then a bus from Delvin to Mullingar, to attend the clinic in Mullingar; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7805/03]

The provision of public transport services on particular routes is a matter for Bus Éireann and local communities should approach Bus Éireann in that regard in the first instance. In areas where Bus Éireann are not operating, local bus operators can apply for licences to provide services.
