Vol. 564 No. 1

Written Answers - Dublin-Monaghan Bombings.

Brendan Smith

Question:

144 Mr. B. Smith asked the Taoiseach when the Barron inquiry report into the Dublin and Monaghan bombings will be published; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9030/03]

I have not yet received the report of the commission of inquiry. The commission is engaged in writing its report, which Judge Barron expects to complete in the near future. It is envisaged that the report prepared by Judge Barron will be submitted to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights, as originally agreed with Opposition parties and the group, Justice for the Forgotten. The Government envisages that the committee would, in public session, consider the follow-up to the report.
