Vol. 564 No. 1

Written Answers - Work Permits.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

149 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the position regarding an application for a non-EU work permit by a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [8697/03]

A work permit recently issued for the individual concerned.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

150 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if there are special circumstances whereby the spouse of a foreign national working here with a work permit can apply for a work permit to provide for their children as their spouse with the work permit is not providing for them; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8772/03]

If someone has entered the State as a spouse of a foreign national, it is likely their immigration status is such that they are ineligible to work in this State. If, however, they were to leave the State and, if an otherwise valid application is received from an employer, such application would be considered in the normal way.
