Question:177 Mr. Kehoe asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the amount of money which will be allocated in national lottery grants for 2003; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9160/03]
Written Answers - National Lottery Funding.
The allocation for grants for the provision of sports and recreational facilities at subhead C1 of my Department's Estimate for this year is €61 million. I will decide soon on the level of project approvals to be authorised this year having regard both to the quality of the applications received under the 2003 programme and the pattern of grant drawdowns on foot of earlier years' approvals. I advertised the invitation of grant applications under the 2003 sports capital programme in the national newspapers on 23 and 24 March last. The closing date for the receipt of completed applications to the programme is 25 April.
