Question:

162 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science his views on the major concerns about the future of the College of Music; and if he will ensure that the college gets the maximum support in order to assist musical education in Ireland. [9798/03]

The Dublin Institute of Technology is a statutory body established under the Dublin Institute of Technology Act 1992. Under that Act, the governance and day-to-day activities of the institute are matters for which the governing body and the management staff of the institute are responsible. This includes decisions in relation to the operation and management of the Dublin Institute of Technology College of Music.
