Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Moynihan – to discuss the extreme hardship caused to pupils and staff of St. Coleman's boys national school, Macroom, County Cork – roll No. 15597W – and St. Joseph's primary school, Macroom, County Cork – roll No 10047I – due to the decision of the Department to terminate posts allocated under the Giving Children an Even Break scheme; in regard to the applications made by these two schools under this disadvantaged programme to outline the process of appeal and if the up to date information supplied by these two schools was reviewed by the ERC and details of the scoring system used, the method of calculation of the points for inclusion and the cut-off points for inclusion in the scheme; (2) Deputy Finian McGrath – the growing impact of Government cuts on people with disabilities and the need for rights based legislation; (3) Deputy O'Dowd – to ask the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs to discuss the funding crisis in area partnerships and community groups funded through ADM; (4) Deputy Keaveney – the need for support for sea angling vessels in the context of marine tourism and the new safety regulations; (5) Deputy Cowley – to ask the Minister if he has been in contact with Mr. John Hynes of An Post concerning the need for the people of Laherdane, County Mayo to retain the Laherdane-based postman, an essential service and part of the essential infrastructure of the area they have enjoyed for the past 150 years; (6) Deputy Durkan – the conditions at Robertstown national school, County Kildare; (7) Deputy Boyle – to ask what emphasis, if any, is being placed on implementing the recommendations of the report of the review group of psychological services within the health service; (8) Deputy Connolly – the proposed withdrawal of public liability insurance cover by health boards from funeral directors and embalmers; (9) Deputy Harkin – to review the Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) (Amendment) (No. 1) Regulations 2002 and (10) Deputy Deenihan – the lack of progress on the provision of an extension to Curranes national school, Castleisland, County Kerry.

The matters raised by Deputies Durkan, Deenihan, Keaveney and Connolly have been selected for discussion and will be taken at the conclusion of business.
