279 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children the allocation to home help service in each health board area for each of the past five years. [9810/03]

I am advised by the health boards that their budgets for the home help service for the years 2000-2003 inclusive are as follows:

*The NEHB has advised that the 2002 budget included a once-off allocation of €800,000.
**The MWHB has advised that funding increased in 2001 due to the review of pay rates and the payment of arrears due.
***The SHB has advised that the 2001 budget provided for additional substantial increases relating to the implementation of the national home help agreement. While these were included in the budget for 2001 they were paid out in 2002.
