293 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of bed closures to date in 2003 in each of the hospitals in each of the health board areas and in the ERHA; the reasons for the bed closures in each case; and the number of bed days which have been lost to each hospital as a consequence of these bed closures. My Department collects information on bed closures in acute hospitals from health agencies on a quarterly basis. The information requested by the Deputy for the quarter ended 31 March 2003 is being collated by my Department. The information will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as the figures are available.
