338 Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the Garda Commissioner has furnished to him a report or any other information on the number of gardaí who are armed as part of their daily duties; the number and percentage of the Garda Síochána who have weapons training; and the number and percentage who have been trained in the use of non lethal weaponry. I am advised by the Garda authorities that for security and operational reasons it is the policy of the Garda Síochána not to supply the information requested.
