Question:

362 Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will report on the outcome of any discussions he has had in recent months with the Garda Commissioner regarding the need to divert more resources to the Sundrive Road Garda station in Dublin to help tackle crime in that area. [9505/03]

I am informed by the Garda authorities, who are responsible for the day to day allocation of resources, including personnel, that local Garda management is satisfied that the resources currently in place in Sundrive Road Garda station are adequate to meet the present policing needs of the area. Resources are augmented from within the district and division as required. The situation will be kept under review and when additional personnel next becomes available the needs of Sundrive Road Garda station will be fully considered within the context of the overall needs of Garda stations throughout the country.
