Vol. 564 No. 5

Written Answers - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

417 Ms B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason for the delay in providing funding to Kerry County Council for the completion of the Farranfore sewerage scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9616/03]

The Farranfore sewerage scheme has been approved for funding in my Department's water services investment programme 2002-04, under the rural towns and villages initiative. The pipework for the scheme has been completed. Additional information requested from Kerry County Council, following receipt in December 2002 of the preliminary report for the treatment works element of the scheme, has recently been received and is under examination in my Department.
