Vol. 565 No. 1

Requests to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.

Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with two notices under Standing Order 31. I propose to call on the Deputies in the order in which they submitted their notices to my office.

I seek leave to move the Adjournment of the Dáil on a specific and important matter of public interest, namely, the need for the urgent allocation of extra resources by the Government to allow for the retention of existing services for people with disabilities and the development of promised further services as well as the introduction of rights based legislation.

Under Standing Order 31, I seek leave to move the Adjournment of the House on a specific and important matter of public interest requiring urgent consideration, namely, in regard to housing, the need for an immediate review on the ceilings on rent supplements and the introduction of a comprehensive housing benefit covering all housing subsidies in line with the report being published today.

Having considered the matters, they are not in accordance with Standing Order 31.
