Written Answers. - Motor Insurance.

John Bruton

Question:

112 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will make a statement in regard to the progress on each of the 67 recommendations of the Motor Insurance Advisory Board in relation to the reduction of insurance premia. [10802/03]

The current position in relation to the 67 MIAB recommendations is that 13 have been fully implemented, 24 have been partially implemented or are in progress and 13 cannot be progressed at present. Plans are in place to progress the remaining recommendations at an early stage.

Some of the recommendations require the dedication of significant resources from the various stakeholders, for example, the preparation of legislation and the development of a book of quantum.
