503 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath will be immediately admitted to hospital to have cataracts removed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12083/03]

Responsibility for the provision of hospital services for residents of counties Westmeath, Longford, Offaly and Laois rests with the Midland Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

505 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will examine the case of a person (details supplied) in County Waterford who has been waiting for a heart operation for the past eight years; and if he will ensure that there is no further delay in this regard. [12130/03]

The provision of hospital services for people living in County Waterford is a matter for the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer at the board to look into this matter and to reply directly to the Deputy.
