Enda Kenny

Question:

321 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Health and Children if tenders have been accepted for the provision of endoscopy equipment at Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar if his Department has given authorisation to the approval submitted for such equipment by the Western Health Board in March 2003; if the successful tender will be accepted; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12682/03]

My Department has received an application from the Western Health Board to fund endoscopy equipment at Mayo General Hospital. This application is at present being considered in the context of a general review of the national development plan for all health boards. My Department will continue to liaise closely with the Western Health Board in relation to its overall capital needs and priorities.
