Question:404 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of incidents of various crimes reported in County Kildare in the past 12 months; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12987/03]
Written Answers. - Crime Levels.
I published the provisional crime statistics for 2002 on 3 April last and they are available in the Oireachtas Library. The statistics are not readily available for County Kildare as the Garda crime figures are compiled on the basis of Garda divisions rather than county boundaries. However, the provisional crime figures for the Carlow-Kildare Garda division for 2002 are contained in the information published last month.
I published the provisional headline crime figures for the first quarter of 2003 on 5 May. These figures are not yet available for the Garda divisions.
