229 Mr. Costello asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will report on the arrest, detention, release and subsequent hospitalisation of a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13078/03]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that a senior officer has been appointed to investigate this matter fully, and that the investigation is under way.
