261 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of houses provided by the various local authorities in County Kildare in each of the past five years; the likely targets in each of the next five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13183/03]

Information on the number of houses completed by the three local authorities in County Kildare for each of the past five years under the local authority housing construction/acquisition programme is set out in the table under:

Local authorities are currently implementing their housing construction programmes on the basis of a multi-annual programme over the period 2000-03. The extent of continuing programmes for the period 2004-06 have not yet been determined in respect of local authorities generally.
