Vol. 567 No. 1

Written Answers. - Project Funding.

Dan Neville

Question:

417 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs if core funding through the enhanced funding scheme will be made available to an organisation (details supplied) in County Limerick. [13410/03]

The enhanced funding scheme referred to by the Deputy was operated on a pilot basis from 1998 to 2000. Under the scheme, funding was provided, for a maximum of three years, to community development projects to undertake work that would not otherwise be carried out within the staffing resources of the project.

In 2000, the project to which the Deputy refers was approved for funding of £27,000 per annum for three years. The first payment issued to the group in July 2000 and the final payment issued in July 2002.

There are no proposals to reintroduce the enhanced funding scheme or to extend funding for posts funded under the scheme.
