Vol. 567 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Community Games.

Bernard Allen

Question:

156 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Defence if he has had discussions with the National Community Games regarding the possible siting of a permanent home for the National Community Games on his Department's properties at the Curragh, County Kildare, in view of the facilities available on site. [13385/03]

I have not discussed the possibility of a permanent home for the National Community Games being located in the Curragh with representatives of that organisation. I would point out that any such proposal could not be favourably considered having regard to the fact that the Curragh in its entirety is classified as a recorded monument under the National Monuments Acts and is in the process of being designated a natural heritage area.
